Albania is a very small but cute country in the Balkans, fairly close to Kosovo. Albania is possibly the least visited countries in Europe but that is changing as travellers start to take notice of its wonderful sites. This country has exceptional, clean sandy beaches, virtually untouched mountain regions, and vibrant, improving cities.
Albania’s pure white sandy beaches are wonderful. They are usually white, sandy beaches although there are a handful of pebble beaches as well. You can if you want lie in the warm dry sun on a blanket or pay for a lounge, the choice is yours. Many of the beaches are totally untouched by foreigners and some are so remote that you can quite possibly have the beach pretty much all to yourself, even in during peak times.
There are plenty of exquisite mountain areas in Albania. The mountains in the north are lovely for skiing or hiking and you can also find quite a few waterfalls and spectacular lakes in the area. The mountains in the north are exciting to see but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are very vibrant with a cafe culture leading to plenty of great cafes to hang out in. Albania cities including Shkodra are worth visiting to see the unusual old city area and also to visit a few museums.
You are sure to find that Albanians are extremely welcoming and will be more than happy to present to you their country if you are there.
